Tips to Determine What to Write About on your Travel Blog

If you're a travel blogger, you know that you will be writing a lot more than normal. A lot of your content will come from the specific destinations you're traveling to and the many good and sometimes bad experiences you're having.
If you're like me, you will get writer's block more often than not. Sometimes I need to just sit down with a pen and a piece of paper (or in the more digital age, with Google docs and voice typing), to brainstorm ideas and flesh them out.
If you've done that and you're still struggling to come up with ideas, I'm here to help.
Use these tips to help you determine what to write about on your travel blog:
- Organic Search: Search on Google for topics related to what or where you want to write about
- Google Trends: Use Google Trends to find out what people are searching, and when
- Pinterest: Start typing your ideas into the Pinterest search bar to see what is being searched with the words or phrases you plan to use
- AI Tools: Use an AI tool like ChatGPT to help you brainstorm topics
- Social Media: See if there are any common questions on your posts (or posts on similar accounts) that you could use as a blog topic
- Search Marketing: Use a search marketing tool like SemRush to help you research topics that will help you rank in search engines
- Competitors: Read other travel content creators' blogs about a similar topic for inspiration. Do NOT copy them. Come up with your own content
