Top Things to Do in Cancun, Mexico

Enjoy a beach day in the hotel zone

There's no shortage of beautiful coastlines in Cancun's hotel zone. The water is so beautiful, and you truly won't want to leave.

Watch the sunrise over the ocean

This doesn't even need words. Definitely plan to wake up and watch the sunrise while you're there!

Spend 1-3 days on Isla Mujeres

The small island of Isla Mujeres is truly a beautiful place. You can take the ferry over and back in the same day, but I would recommend staying overnight at least one night so you have more time to explore and enjoy the island.

Go on a day trip to surrounding areas

From Cancun, it's very easy and accessible to go to many surrounding areas and sites, like Chichén Itzá, Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, Isla Holbox, and many more. All are accessible by booking a group tour, and now that train connects more of the region.

Where to Stay in Cancun

I recommend staying at the northern end of the hotel zone as close to the point as possible. That's where all the shops, restaurants, and fun things to do are - within easy walking distance. Plus it's where the ferry to Isla Mujeres is.

If you're looking for a quieter, more relaxed beach, you may want to consider going further south in the hotel zone.
