How Erica and I Accidentally Hiked The Cliffs of Moher
When we arrived at the Cliffs of Moher, we were just planning to visit for a short period of time. We were going to see the cliffs and soak in the view, then continue on in our roadtrip.
As we were seeing the cliffs, we continued walking along the path to the left. Viewpoints just kept getting better and better. We even got to one spot that was so windy that Erica couldn't move. She had to backtrack a bit and go on the higher path to be able to continue walking.
The further we got, the closer the endpoint seemed. And at some point, we decided that we were going to continue on until we got there. Well... it's a lot further than it looks.
We didn't prepare for hiking, so we didn't have any food or water with us. And we hadn't eaten yet that day. When we were near the endpoint, we asked a few other people who were also hiking if they could share a little water with us. We were so thirsty by that point and really needed it. Luckily we found a few people who shared water with us.
When we made it back to the visitor center around 3pm, we were finally able to get food and water. But lesson learned, we won't be accidentally hiking again. If we don't have water, we're not going.
