The Top Things to Do in Florence

I actually thought I didn't like Florence while I was there, but I just didn't like that I stayed a 40+ minute walk from the city center. I actually really loved Florence and would love to go back, but next time stay closer into the historic center.

Watch the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo

You and everyone else in the city will have the same idea, but watching the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo was an incredible decision. If you want a good view, go early. The most common place to sit is on the stairs, but I didn't get there early enough to get a spot.

Walk along the Arno river

If you're in Florence, you have to take time to walk along the Arno river. It splits the city down the middle, and you'll find exciting things on both sides of the river. As you walk in either direction, you will see all kinds of beautiful buildings.

Where to Stay in Florence

I recommend staying as close as you can in the city center to the Duomo. When you do, most everything will be an easy walk away. But there is good public transportation options in the city if you want to branch out further.
